An ‘Open Day’, organised by Canal & River Trust, will take place on the Oxford Canal at Hillmorton Locks on Sunday 18 November. Lock 4 on the flight will be drained and visitors will be invited to join guided tours into the lock chamber where they will meet staff from the Trust and learn more about the lock maintenance programme. In addition, and linked to the ‘Locklines’ art project, a poetry workshop and poetry readings will take place. Visitors will also be able to see poetry by Roy Fisher carved into the lock gate by artist Peter Coates. The Trust fundraising team will also be on site.
